Pathfinder Society is an organised play campaign enjoyed by thousands of gamers worldwide who regularly meet to enjoy the game in their homes, in game stores, and at game conventions such as Conquest.

You play an agent of the Pathfinder Society, a legendary league of explorers, archeologists, and adventurers dedicated to discovering and chronicling the greatest mysteries and wonders of an ancient world beset by magic and monsters. The campaign's home base is sprawling Absalom, the so-called City at the Center of the World. A Pathfinder explores the dark alleys and political intrigues of Absalom between far-flung travels to the most interesting and exotic locales in the world of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.

Each Pathfinder Society game sends your character on a brief mission, a single episode in a continuing story. For every three scenarios played, your character gains a new level, and you can progress your character over the course of many Pathfinder Society adventures held at different conventions and events run throughout the year.

Each Pathfinder Society game plays for 5 hours duration, and therefore requires two standard Conquest sessions to play, for example:

AM Session: 9am - 3:30pm
PM Session: 4pm - 10:30pm

Scenarios will be chosen on the day, but will include intro scenarios for new players, new releases and popular favourites, so something for everyone!

You may join the Pathfinder Society without any prior game experience by playing one of seven pre-generated characters [http://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety/pregeneratedCharacters] - Kyra human cleric, Valeros human fighter, Merisiel elven rogue, Ezren human wizard, Lirianne half-elven gunslinger, Reiko human ninja, or Hayato human samurai.

Alternatively, if you're already familiar with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, you can create your own first-level character and bring it with you to the game. If building your own character, you will need to refer to either the Pathfinder RPG Beginner Box [http://paizo.com/beginnerbox] and the Pathfinder Society Character Creation Guide [http://paizo.com/products/btpy8qev] OR the Pathfinder RPG Core Rules [http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/v5748btpy88yj] and the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organised Play [http://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety/v5748btpy84k4] which describes the point-buy system, starting hit points, factions [http://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety/factions] and traits [http://paizo.com/traits], and other rules important to building a character for a world-wide shared campaign.

Most Pathfinder sourcebooks contain options you may use for your character, including new classes, archetypes, feats, traits, equipment, spells etc. If using a rule from a source outside the Core Rulebook, you must have a legal copy of that book with you at the table for the GM to refer to, and it must be listed as allowed on the Additional Resources page [http://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety/resources], otherwise your character won't be permitted to use that class, feat, spell etc during play.
